workshop 3

the colour pallet in the office is predominantly made up of blues and greys. This creates and atmosphere of gloom, loneliness and boredom.This is combined with the use of a cold light from the window. The director has used this pallet because in this moment Caroline feels sad  and ignored by her farther who is too busy working to spend time with her.

In the' other office the predominate colours are red and orange. This combined with the use of a warm light creates a mood of cheerfulness, curiosity and safety. The director chose this colour pallet because Caroline has just arrived in the other world and met he other father who wants to spend time with her. 

At the end of the film these colour pallets have reversed with the other world becoming dark and gloomy and the real world becoming bright and colourful. This shows Caroline's changing perspective as she becomes happier at home.
