Maths we have done throughout the year.

Have you ever thought how big space was, well I have, If you haven't you are in the right place take a seat,  first I am going to take you through our learning in 9-ay an I am going to be showing you what we have been learning in 9-ay. The first thing we learn't was how much water was in the world and we had to do all the calculations to find out the answers which was.

Roughly 1.260,000,000,000,000,000,000 litres. 10^18

The next topic we done was small things are and we found out that bed bugs are really small same as sand flies here is our working out.

How small are bed bugs

bed bugs range from the size of a bed bug egg (0.09 inches, 2.5 mm) to the size of full adult bed bugs at ( 0.18 inches, 4.5 mm). For reference, 0.1 inches is slightly over the thickness of a quarter. Adult bed bugs are the size of an apple seed which is pretty small.

How small is a sand fly

Only about 3 mm long

After that we went on to how log would it take to fly around the universe in a Airbus A380 we had to do a lot of calculations to eventually find out the answer this is the first thing we worked on , Scroll across.

Logan & Josh To the Sun 149.6 10^6   To the Sun 18 years  To Mercury 77x 10^6 To Mercury 13 yrs To Venus 261 x 10^6 To Venus 32 years 00 To the Moon 384 x10^3 To the Moon 14.5 days  To Mars 54 x 10^6To Mars 6 yrs  To Jupiter 588 x 10^6  to Jupiter 72.4 years  To Saturn 1.43 x 10^9  To Saturn 1480 yrs  To Uranus 3.2 x 10^9  To Uranus 395.4 yrs  To Neptune 4.3 x 10^9  To Neptune 5306 yrs   To Pluto 7.5 x 10^9  To Pluto 924.6 years

The second thing we worked on was how long It Is to Neptune.

Neptune Logan and Josh
Distance to Neptune4.3 x 10^9hrs105120days4380years
my airbus speed925km0.00464864864
time to get to Neptune is 4.3 10^9divided by 925 0.00464864864
Hrs to get to Neptune105120so it takes 12 years4380 days 105120 hours
to get to Neptune

Eventually after that work we moved onto If the golfer it the ball such and such away.

1st Hit
2nd Hit
3rd Hit
4th Hit
175 m
130 m
40 m
5 m
You take the 5 from the 4th hit and add it to the first hit so that makes 180 m and then you add the 100 from the second hit which then makes 280 m and then take the 310 m then you add the 40 from the 3rd hit which makes 350.

1st He hit 50% of the goal - because half of 350  is 175 and since he hit 175 that means he hit 50% of the goal.

2nd Hit 34%

3rd Hit 14.5%

4th Hit 1.5 %
