sundial

What are sundials? Sundials are things that can tell the time.  They were first invented in 3500bc and were first used by the Romans and then carried on to the Egyptians.  Sometimes people still use them today.

Three interesting facts that I found about the sundial are - Romans first invented the sundial.

Something I did not know -  that the stick in the middle that is called the Gnomon but the g is silent.

Something I learnt  - that the Earth and the stars rotate around  the Celestial Poles at night.

What are the Celestial Poles?   The Celestial Poles are things that are above the stars and the earth.   At night the stars and the earth rotate around the Celestial Poles.

How I made my sundial
1. I got a piece of flat wood.
2. Then I marked it out.
3. After I cut it out.
4. Then I had to put it in shape.
5. After I finished cutting It I had to sandpaper It In to the right shape.
6. Then I was done I had coloured It.
7. And then the stick fell out.

Here is mine and Kaydins slide about time.

  1. Hello Vin here

You out of your whole class have the most facts but you have very short sentences and only one picture (also work on making a better sundial) but apart from that its okay.

    Bye!
