what does cultural traditions mean to me

What  already knew I did not really know anything about cultural traditions.

What I found  interesting- I found interesting that all the country have different things to celebrate.

What I want to know more about -nothing much

What does cultural traditions mean to me- to me it means where you come from and where you grew up.

sundial

What are sundials? Sundials are things that can tell the time.  They were first invented in 3500bc and were first used by the Romans and then carried on to the Egyptians.  Sometimes people still use them today.

Three interesting facts that I found about the sundial are - Romans first invented the sundial.

Something I did not know -  that the stick in the middle that is called the Gnomon but the g is silent.

Something I learnt  - that the Earth and the stars rotate around  the Celestial Poles at night.

What are the Celestial Poles?   The Celestial Poles are things that are above the stars and the earth.   At night the stars and the earth rotate around the Celestial Poles.

How I made my sundial
1. I got a piece of flat wood.
2. Then I marked it out.
3. After I cut it out.
4. Then I had to put it in shape.
5. After I finished cutting It I had to sandpaper It In to the right shape.
6. Then I was done I had coloured It.
7. And then the stick fell out.

Here is mine and Kaydins slide about time.

bacteria

What is the difference between hygiene and personal safety?

Hygiene is like if you cut chicken and go to  cut veges with the same knife you will get cross contamination.

Personal safety is like with knives and the oven just be aware of  your surroundings .

What is bacteria? bacteria is a germ that can spread across your body  to stop it make sure to wash your hands.

What does bacteria need to survive bacteria needs water, temperature and time.

Give three examples how we avoid spreading bacteria. Wash your hands, don't share anything with people  and don't touch people when they have just sneezed or coughed.

What Is the term cross contamination mean and what is the effect on you? The meaning is that If you cut chicken and then cut veges with the same knife the chicken  could cross contaminate the food, The effect of you is you can get sick

health and safety

(health) what is health? health is about hygiene  get a adult to help you if you are stuck

(safety) what is safety? safety is about carrying knives safety and being safe in the kitchen around  and be aware you could get food poising

week 2
