Which people in the group are starting to stand out as leaders, is this surprising? Why/Why not?
Ellie & Homer. To me, it's not surprising if Ellie is a leader because she sounds and acts like an adult, but it is surprising to me that Homer is the leader because he is more of a goofy person and a bit of a non-serious.
Do you think that taking Kevin's dog Flip to Corrie's house was a bad mistake? Explain your thoughts.
I think it's not a mistake because Animals deserve to be treated with love and it is not loving if you leave an innocent animal behind to die. But I think it will make you more worry even more if you bring the dog with you even when you're trying to be quiet and hope that the dog doesn't bark to give you away
What does Lee mean when he says 'We have to make some ugly choices?'
Maybe because their running out of time and realizing that they have to leave some things important behind.
How is Ellie's image of Kevin changing in this Chapter?
Ellie is beginning to see Kevin as more of a mature and a nicer person
Is the decision to split into smaller groups a wise one? Give reasons.
To me, I think it is a good idea so that it would be faster to finish what they want to accomplish, but I wouldn't split with my group cause I'd be worried if the others will end up in trouble.
Why is it that Elie's group decides to act 'illogical' and survey the showgrounds together?
Ellie thinks it is a good idea to be together so that they'll be less worried to think that someone will get hurt.
Why does the idea of a female soldier surprise Ellie?
She is surprised because maybe she thinks that to be a solder you have to be a male and that she is used to seeing soldiers as male than females.
If your parents were captured in a situation like this, they have been 'sensible', or would there have been violence?
Bro! I think if my Parents would be in a situation like this... Ha! I have a feeling they would be sensible, But Naaaaahhh, they'd probably just finish this with violence ayye.
How is Ellie 'transformed' once she steps out from behind a tree near the Showgrounds?
When Ellie and her friends were behind the tree, she was really happy that she could hide all of them and get away from the trouble. As soon as she steps away from the tree while something is happening, she starts to panic and starts to worry.
Ellie and Kevin's quick-thinking allowed them to turn a ride-on lawnmower into a bomb. Was this moral behaviour? Did they do the right thing, or should they surrender themselves?
I don't think this was a good idea. This is because they didn't know why the soldiers were there but they just assumed that they were bad. I think What they could have done better was to figure out what exactly are the soldiers are doing there and to at least protect the people of Wirrawee.
Predict what you think is gonna happen to Lee and Robyn.
I think that maybe they've gone lost or get caught up into something really terrible.
